Type L-2B flight jackets were originally issued to US Air Force pilots in the early 1950s. Designed as an alternative to the bulky MA-1 jacket, the L2-B jacket is a refined jacket, lacking the pockets and heavy insulation of the MA-1, allowing for great manueverability and comfort in the cockpit. Like many military surplus styles, this iconic style was embraced in youth subcultures in the decades to follow, and remains a pop culture staple to this day.

Iron Heart's L-2B combines traditional materials and design features with the brand's trademark over-engineered construction. The shell is crafted from a silky smooth, scratch-resistant 4.4oz nylon, while the inside is a warm, lighty padded diamond quilted liner.
