Samurai's "Year Of" series began back in 2020, making this Year of the Snake release their sixth installment. For the Year of the Snake release, Samurai has opted to go with their iconic Bushido 17 ounce fabric, full of a rich slubby texture, and featuring a unique double red selvedge ID with a prominent silver lamé thread. Cut in their slim tapered S511 cut, this jean features a special red top button, snake-patterned jacquard pocket pags, and an edition specific sheepskin patch.

Snakes have been long depicted in Japanese mythology, and their existence has had an enormous impact on Japanese culture, in both good ways and bad. One famous example is "Yamata no orochi", a serpent said to have eight heads, each having a life of their own. This ancient story is proof that snakes and a deep belief in their mythologies was already deeply rooted in Japanese culture by 1300 years ago.
